~~Have you seen a singing bowl~~

We have come across a singing woman, a nightingale or a cuckoo. But have you seen a singing bowl. Its one of the kind which is manufactured in Tibetan areas.



The bowl is usually made of bronze and a wooden stick comes along with it.We have to gently rotate the wooden stick along the edges of the bowl.Its not that it will sing a song for you but once you rotate the stick along the edges you will hear something like a OM vibration which within few minutes will fill the room. The bowl comes in different sizes and the pitch of the sound varies according to the way we rotate.

It is believed that these bowls are used for meditation,trance induction and prayer. And mostly Tibetan Buddhist used these bowls. Given below is a video I got from youtube on how to use the bowl correctly. Her bowl is little bigger than what I have.
