Reserve Consumption !!!

got this forward from my friend

Buddha, one day, was in deep thought about the worldly activities and the ways of instilling goodness in human beings. One of his disciples approached him and said humbly "Oh my teacher! While you are so much concerned about the world and others, why don't you look in to the welfare and needs of your own disciples also?"

Buddha : "OK.. Tell me how I can help you"

Disciple : "Master! My attire is worn out and is beyond the decency to wear the same. Can I get a new one, please?"

Buddha found the robe indeed was in a bad condition and needed replacement. He asked the store keeper to give the disciple a new robe to wear on. The disciple thanked Buddha and retired to his room. A while later; he went to his disciple's place and asked him "Is your new attire comfortable? Do you need anything more?”

Disciple : "Thank you my Master. The attire is indeed very comfortable. I need nothing more"

Buddha : "Having got the new one, what did you do with your old attire?"

Disciple : "I am using it as my bed spread"

Buddha : "Then.. hope you have disposed off your old bed spread"

Disciple : " No.. no.. master. I am using my old bedspread as my window curtain"

Buddha : " What about your old Curtain?"

Disciple : "Being used to handle hot utensils in the kitchen"

Buddha : "Oh.. I see.. Can you tell me what did they do with the old cloth they used in Kitchen"

Disciple : "They are being used to wash the floor."

Buddha : " Then, the old rug being used to wash the floor...?"

Disciple: "Master, since they were torn off so much, we could not find any better use, but to use as a twig in the oil lamp, which is right now lit in your study room."

Buddha smiled in contentment and left for his room.

If not to this degree of utilization, can we at least attempt to find the best use of all our resources at home and in office? We need to handle wisely, all the resources earth has bestowed us with ….both natural and material so that they can be saved for the generations to come. Reserve Consumption !!!

few hospital experiences !

Today my uncle's kid was not going well and was taken to hospital. It was a simple fever but doctor was not satisfied by that. They wanted perform all kinds of test so that they could detect what the cause of the disease might be and then arrive at the conclusion .I think of my childhood days where the doctor would recognise the disease just with his stethoscope and thermometer and will give few medicines and I will be alright the next day.And now for a simple cold or cough we end up taking all kinds of tests to make sure we are perfect.
With the improvement in technology new medical machines are discovered everyday.Aren't those advancement in technologies should make our life easy rather complicated.
When I was in Cochin last year,I had wheezing which occurs very rarely. My friend took me to the hospital.I don't know what my friend said to the nurse there maybe he would have said 'my friend could not breath'.There I was taken directly to ICU!!! they put on a oxygen mask, then gave an injection and kept me under observation for few hours, later discharged me.I was wondering why this kind treatment for a simple issue. Now I think twice before going to hospital.
I think there is a simple way anywhere but the trouble is finding it.

Looking back at school syllabus

One of my cousin has just written his 12th board exams and right now preparing for AIEEE. He has asked me to guide him. Since its been more 8 years I have been through these kinds of ordeal and I felt whether my rusty brain would remember all those useless things which I have learnt in school.
Its not bad as I thought as I could co relate something from the syllabus he showed, sometimes felt nostalgic about few problems which brought back the memories of my school days. I still feel my life was so difficult during the school days than what I m doing now. Lots to study, lots to remember parental pressures its good I am out of those things now.

நர்சரி பள்ளி ஒன்றின் உணவறையில் ஒரு கூடை நிறைய ஆப்பிள்கள் வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தன.
அந்தக் கூடையின் மேல், "ஒன்றுக்கு மேல் எடுக்காதீர்கள்;

சற்று தொலைவில் ஒரு பெட்டி நிறைய சாக்லேட்டுகள் வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தன.

My trip to Delhi last week!

The first thing I noticed in Delhi was pink colour street dog roaming around,it took few seconds to realise the holi celebrations didn't spare the poor thing.Last week I was in the national capital to attend one of our family friend's marriage. It is my second visit to Delhi ,last time was five years ago in a hot summer. This time climate was rather pleasant.
Day 1
Reached Delhi by noon, from there directly left to Faridabad where our friend's reception was supposed to happen. It took more than two hours to travel 40kms as the traffic was pretty heavy.Seems all cars in the city were on the road.Surprise to know bridegroom has taken classes for me during my training days at my company.Reception was one of the best I have ever seen, felt my stomach is too small to eat all the food they have arranged for.

Day 2
Went back to Delhi followed the ordeal negotiating the Delhi traffic,by noon went around karol bagh where my dad bargained a chapel for 250 rs ,later found the same available for 150rs.My mum got a new salwar and lots of other items which I couldn't remember.

From there we went to Akshardham temple, built on over 300 acres of land ,with wonderful scriptures ,high ceiling, distinct domes, long pathways on the whole it was a marvel of architecture. It took more than five hours to see the whole temple,We enjoyed the spiritual movie, boat ride and fountain show.

Day3
When we were in Delhi a gang of around 40 people from Trichy where on spiritual tour to hariwar, rishikesh etc. They halted a day in Delhi on the way back home.We joined them for a one day tour around Delhi.

I saw all the places which I used to see in everyday news like Rastrapathi bhavan, parliament,Headquarters of Congress,BJP etc. We visited Gandhi memorial ,Indira Gandhi memorial and Tirumurthi bhavan(Nehru s memorial).Later in the day we went to Qutab Minar and Lotus temple.Lotus temple is well maintained we can just visit it for the flowers they have grown there.

There were lots of flowers with different colours and were unique among others.

Day4
My mum s longtime dream was to see Taj. We got up early in the morning left our room around 5:30. We had booked Panikar travels to take us to Agra.It was four hour journey we reached Agra.

Our first stop was at Agra fort, having seen the movie Jodha Akbar i could relate most of the locations I saw there.I got the real meaning of what is meant by living life King s size. From there we visited a marble workshop, got a Taj replica. After lunch we went to see Taj.

We entered Taj via the south gate, the first look at the beautiful structure left me speechless,I spent looking at every inch of the workmanship it took the build Taj.22 years more than 20000 people were used to build this amazing masterpiece. We took lot pictures from our camera ,a professional picture in lover s bench. We spent around 2 hours there.Still my mind is having the fresh memories of the Taj. After seeing Taj we went to Mathura, visited the birthday place of Krishna. From there we returned back to Delhi,as usual traffic made us mad took 5 hours to reach Delhi.

Day 5
We got up late ,since it was our final day in Delhi we reserved it for shopping. We went to Palika Bazaar(underground shopping market).I dont remember what and all we bought it was my mum who did all the shopping I was a mere spectator nodding the head top to down or left to right whenever she asked my opinion! After that we had lunch at pizza corner, then left to our room packed our stuffs head to airport. Reached Chennai by evening, the humidity in city was too much, which made me to sweat instantly.I started to wonder whether I could have stayed in Delhi itself!!

Yoga for Super Brain

I got this forward from my aunt ,have pasted the content below!

What we have been practicing for generations since childhood is now
packaged by Yale university school of Medicine as Superbrain Yoga to
increase intelligence. Nothing but our simple THOPPU KARNAM.
We thought this is just a prayer activity to Lord Ganesha or a
punishment for one's poor performance or bad behavior at school or at
home.
Who knows! Given the economic meltdown, they may even patent it and
sell it back to India. Please don't go ape on your kids and force
them to over do it.
Enjoy the video !
